Amenities & Facilities
Morag's Lodge offers a secure cycle storage shed with a charging point for e-bikes and a drying room for wet gear. A self-catering kitchen is open 24 hours with free tea and coffee, plus a 24-hour vending machine for snacks. The lodge also has a licensed bar with an open fire, a shared lounge, and TV area, along with laundry service (£6) and luggage storage.
Room Types
Guests can choose from private rooms (single, double, twin, family quad) with en suite bathrooms, or shared dormitories (4-bed and 6-bed mixed). All rooms have comfortable beds, heating, and free tea/coffee making facilities. Towel hire is available for £1 per towel, and bed linens are provided on arrival.
Location & Activities
Located a few minutes' walk from Fort Augustus on the edge of Loch Ness, the lodge sits directly on the Great Glen Way hiking and cycling route. Free parking is available on site, and Inverness is 45 minutes by car. Hiking, cycling, and entertainment staff (during season) are available, along with board games and puzzles.
Dining & Bar
Breakfast (continental), packed lunches, and evening meals are served on site, with a menu that includes hearty options for walkers and cyclists. The licensed bar offers a selection of local beers, wines, and spirits, with seating around an open fire. During off-peak season (November-March), evening services (bar, reception, meals) may not be available, and self-check-in procedures are in place.
Pet & Children Policies
Children of any age are welcome in private rooms when accompanied by a responsible adult; children over 14 may stay in shared dorm rooms with an adult. Dogs are permitted in private rooms for a £10 cleaning charge per room. The lodge also provides facilities for disabled guests, including a ground-floor room available on request.
